The ceremony and reception will both take place at the beautiful Spencerville Mill & Museum.
The address is 11 Water St. Spencerville, ON. Free parking will be available on site.
We plan to have the wedding ceremony outdoors in the Mill's park. Cocktail hour will take place on the main floor of the mill, and we will move to the second floor for the reception.
Spencerville, ON is located approximately 15 minutes from Kemptville, 20 minutes from Brockville and about an hour from Ottawa. Many hotels are available in Brockville and there is one small motel in Kemptville.
As there was not enough interest, we have not reserved a room block. However, we suggest booking accommodations at one of these nearby hotels:
The dress code for our wedding is semi-formal/cocktail attire. Ladies should wear a cocktail dress or pant-suit, and a dress shirt and dress pants or suit for men.
Please keep in mind when choosing footwear that the ceremony will take place outdoors in the grass weather-permitting, and there are stairs in the reception space.
Limited parking is available at the Spencerville Mill. We recommend carpooling and arriving early to secure a spot. Should the Mill parking be full upon your arrival, there is ample street parking available on Spencer St, just a short walk from the venue.
Please refrain from parking in front of the houses directly across from the Mill. All parking options are free.
Please plan to arrive by 4pm so we can ensure all guests have arrived and are seated by the 4:30pm ceremony start time. You are welcome to arrive anytime after 3:30pm.
There will be an open bar available to guests from cocktail hour until the end of the reception.
Please plan your transportation to your accommodations ahead of time, as there is no Uber/taxis or public transportation available. We suggest carpooling and selecting a designated driver ahead of time.
Snacks will be provided during cocktail hour. A 3 course BBQ-style dinner will be served during the reception. Please inform us of any dietary restrictions by the RSVP deadline.
Please note that only guests named on your invitation are invited. Unfortunately, we will not be able to accommodate any additional guests.
We ask that our guests please refrain from taking pictures during the ceremony. To avoid distractions during the ceremony and ensure all our guests are present with us in the moment, we have hired a professional photographer and videographer to capture our special day.
After the ceremony, pictures and videos are welcome and encouraged.

We've lived together for some time with all our pots and pans, and as we don't need homely gifts we've got another plan! So if you'd like to give a gift and send us on our way, a contribution to our honeymoon would really make our day! Then while on our safari adventure, or by the ocean so blue, we'll sit back and know that it is truly thanks to you!
When someone is getting married, you often hear people ask “how did you know he/she was the one?”. Though I can't necessarily pinpoint one magical moment, a moment that will always stand out to me was a couple of months into dating when I moved into my apartment and Atlas, who was a puppy at the time, got really sick.
Chris was working that day so I wasn't expecting much, but as soon as I told him what was going on he said “What hospital are you at? I'll be right there.” Rather than going to work he made the detour in the complete opposite direction to come sit with us at the animal hospital. We just sat in my car and he waited with me trying to reassure me that everything would be okay. That kind of drop-everything-in-a-second support Chris showed me that day just solidified the feeling that I had found someone very special.
From there we moved into our first apartment together a few months later. Within a few months of that I brought up the idea of buying a horse, and a couple months later I suggested we needed a second dog so Atlas would have a friend. When Chris didn't bat an eye at the small zoo we were starting to collect, then I really knew this was it (lol). With our crew in tow we moved out to our small acreage in October 2021, and now I can honestly say I'm living the dream. Everyone who has known me growing up knows all I ever wanted was a house in the country and lots of animals, and I am so grateful every day to be able to share this dream and continue building this life with Chris.
When the pandemic started in 2020, I had considered taking a break from dating apps so that I could focus on work. I was also mapping out a plan to switch career paths. Well, I'm glad I kept using dating apps for a bit longer, because I may have never met my soulmate!
After a month or two, I think we both realized that we had something special, and our relationship greatly took off. We moved in with each other after less than a year of dating, and less than a year after that, we had bought our first house. Before we bought our house, I had known for some time that I wanted to propose, but at the time we were a bit too focused on the house, so I put it on the back-burner. We closed on our house in late Autumn, and I knew I wanted to propose outdoors on a sunny Spring/Summer day, so I had to put it on the back-burner for even longer.
I was planning the best time and place to pop the question. After two days of writing a short proposal speech, I took Alexa and the puppies to a quiet place along Rideau River. I have no shame in admitting that I didn't need to spend time writing a proposal speech, because as soon as I went down on one knee, I began sobbing and could barely speak (joyful tears, of course).
Alexa's unwavering commitment, infinite empathy, and shared vision of a happy, rewarding life constantly helps me grow, and for that, I am eternally grateful. I look forward to our life together, and I can't wait to celebrate our marriage with friends and family by our side!
